I wrote a small handful of paragraphs yesterday and promptly got distracted staring a pictures of Nero Bellum.

Sorry, writer-self. That man's just so... distracting.

Augh, part of me can't believe I'm doing this. I'm actually writing some of the myth. It's trajectory is [personal profile] clocksong. If you want to hear anything about the crazy that I believe to comprise the wider world, you can go ahead and add me over there. I may not filter you in right away, or ever, and for that I apologize in advance. This shit is scary, and I'm trying.

I will not make any account for what is allegory and what I believe to be objectively true, and I will not make much of one for what I know from conjecture and what I know from experience. Those things are mine and mine alone. Sometimes, I find words that work for these things from a lot of different sources. They're never perfect, but we live in a broken place, and with only 2/3 of the conceptual verbiage that I need to describe existence entire, I do what I can. Consider it semaphore if you must.

(Edited to add: if you're already added on there, and you want to see business, comment. The above admonition stands, lovelies. Sorry I'm such a weirdo.)

Since I'm working (you know, Working) tonight, should I be surprised to see the shadows around the edges moving more than they normally do? No. Does that stop it alarming me? No, again. Sigh. Jumpy witch.

On having a vivid imagination:

(6:00:01 PM) thisseverance: That image is just perfect.
(6:00:13 PM) thisseverance: You, running into hills, clutching your groin.
(6:00:33 PM) jesusmcmurphy: Singing Iron Maiden.
(6:00:36 PM) thisseverance: yes.
(6:00:44 PM) thisseverance: RUN TO THE HILLS
(6:00:46 PM) thisseverance: RUN FOR YOUR WAAAAANG
(6:00:50 PM) jesusmcmurphy: RUN FOR YOU...
(6:00:55 PM) jesusmcmurphy: Wow.

“It has often been said
there’s so much to be read,
you never can cram
all those words in your head.

So the writer who breeds
more words than he needs
is making a chore
for the reader who reads.

That’s why my belief is
the briefer the brief is,
the greater the sigh
of the reader’s relief is.”
- Dr. Seuss

I also treated myself today: brand new boxes of my favourite pens, one each of black and red.

I keep associating the 'detect' button for location on these entries to the mood thing. I am constantly amused by the idea that LJ might be able to detect my mood, and wonder what it would say if it tried.

Coffee.

I LOVE COFFEE! I love it! It is wonderful!

That is all.

PS: Why is the 'official' Tom Cruise website being advertised to me right now??

How many distractions can I line up, the instant I sit down to do some writing? What am I afraid of, getting somewhere? That I must go to so much effort to ensure that I cannot focus?

Win!

Epic Fail! I have no paper (that I can find) to mark the darts for the McCalls top I was going to make out of the purple brocade. Were it earlier in the day I would have persevered and gone to get some, but it's getting dark, and Jeremy's car is in the shop, leaving my only mode of transport to be the scoot or the bus which are both kindof negated by darkness unless the travel is really necessary. I'm changing my plan to a shirt with a similar feel (actually, when it's done I might be able to wear it as a short dress! I mean, short for me, which is like, at least to the knees) that's loose (read: no darts), has the mandarin collar and the little side-seam thingy in the front, and ties in the back. I have some black and white silky (mostly black, I made a handkerchief-skirt out of some of it a while back that I enjoy a great deal) that ought to do the trick. It ties in the back. Wish me luck!

Have any of you got experience keeping a regular dream journal? Either public or private, computerized or written longhand...

If so, how do you keep it? Do you write down all the dreams you have, or just ones that seem particularly vivid or interesting? Does it help you remember dreams better when you wake up, with practice? Does it help you have more control over your dreamscape?

I figure, everything - every stimulus, pleasant or otherwise - is some kind of resource. I might as well start trying to make use of more of them.

I haven't quit. I just updated corbie.livejournal.com with the rest of the fragments, and will be updating my NaNo site wordcount after this. I'm just over 25k... I know I'm behind, but I'm still fighting!
