Yea, I live in LA. Where, obviously, only really important famous people live. So. The mail has to be here, like, yesterday.

Alternatively, it's probably a hub where stuff gets sent first so, if the final destination happens to be here, it shakes out early.

But I prefer the prior, more colorful fantasy. In it, I am also a secret agent.

It's certainly more plausible than my other explanation, which would be that when the post office says 3 days, it means real days, not business days. That never happens.
