I wish I'd have posted something joyful and cherrious about Obama being elected. I'm... I really am very very happy.

Unfortunately, the state I live in looks like it's going to elect a felon convicted of political crimes to senate, and the state I was living in just re-banned gay marriage. Kinda harshes my buzz, man.

Dear America,

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Small steps... though I don't like the step backwards in Cali. Bad Californians, bad.

i am so sorely disappointed that that prop passed as well (WHAT THE HELL, CALI? FROWN.), but am i still unbelievably proud of the direction that america took itself last night. which is to say: dear america - YOU FINALLY DID IT RIGHT, FOR ONCE.

baby steps. and as far as baby steps go, last night's was a pretty huge one . . .

You might be in luck as far as the senator goes. I've read that Senate leadership may try to expel him, as they don't want a felon serving in the Senate. Of course, it remains to be seen whether his replacement would be any better, if that happened.

probably a guy named Parnell. Could be worse... Begich would be way better. It changes every year how vacant senate seats are handled and I need to check whether or not we'll have an election. When the guy who was serving as one of our congressmen vacated to go be the pre- palin governor, he appointed his daughter to the senate seat. Maybe Sarah will do the same thing and we can have he teen pregnancy looking out for us in Washington? Afterall, we obviously have unique definitions of qualified in alaska.

I've heard talk about Palin appointing *herself*. I wonder if she could do that?
