Anger-Poem

I’m tired of all of this
Quiet abiding, this
Waiting for answers, this
Day-dreaming
Head-screaming
Way-making
Hate-shaking
Smile-faking
Heart breaking.

I’m tired of all of this
Hollow deciding, this
Unplanned anesthetizing, this
All-fearing
Soul-searing
Head-clearing
Skull-leering
Dream-curing
Not enduring.

I’m tired.
Of all of these
Sick senses, these
Poor defenses. These
Styrofoam smiles
Obeyed for a while and then
Dusted, or rusted, untrusted.
Our promises, broken
Our injury, still unspoken.
