I become daily more assured that I hate Los Angeles. Something about the temperament of this place disgrees with me on a level that is difficult to describe. All I know is that it isn't something that's inherent in big cities... I can exist in other big cities, that I know of, and not have this... this reaction of skin-crawly loathing that I feel more and more in my daily life here. I didn't come down expecting to love it; god knows I've never been enchanted by this city. But...

It's really neither here nor there. Maybe all I need is a break.

New Orleans is always good for a break. Bring boyo, I know a couple of couches available as well as numerous hole-in-the-walls, pool halls, dance halls, college bars, ugly bars, fancy bars, hipster clubs, goth clubs, drug dens, riverside docks and sitting areas, etc.

Hardly :P The only two that count are here, and Anchorage. Which, though I've sometimes been frustrated and bemused by, I've never particularly loathed. Not for a long time, at least. Many years.

It's highly tempting. Do the drive-bys come included in the vacation package or do I have to pay extra for them?
