I'll do and I'll do
Mar. 12th, 2003 10:17 pmWind screaming and dust racing in huge fins and flams, across roads, over buildings, into my car. Hands always pushing, at my back, in my eyes, yanking my long coat... Always like something solid has hit.
The wind is so terrifyingly real sometimes. Something more concrete than the pavement beneath my feet, than the wall there, than the people there waiting for the light to change.
The sun set in dull red, bloody from all the dust lashing about in the air. It melted like rock on a hot horizon, and made me think undeniably of an offering. And I will offer. God it's cold.
I think I'll sleep tonight. I sang, and I didn't think I'd be able to, so I think I'll really sleep. Solitude will calm me... She used to sing me to sleep, a white angel hovering in the corners of my mind quite unlike what I think her to be when I really am alone. She teaches me that solitude and lonliness are very different things... but I think Lonliness has an angel, too.
She's beautiful. She'll come to you if you call her. I'd come to you if you called me, too... but it's been a very long time. I mean that you know. You know.
