Yes, and no. Piercings and tattoos, for one thing, developed out of tribal rites. And... nowadays, ideally, they involve sterile equipment and clean conditions, and peoplewhoknowwhatthey'redoing. But, I guess people have piercing parties just as often as people have Botox parties.
Now, the key thing, is that piercings don't involve botulism microbes. That's my problem with it. And, they're a one-time-go thing. You don't have to have it re-done every month. AND, (unless we're talking about midlife crisis tattoo here), it's not an attempt to evade the aging process. You know how I feel about that.
